Task 20 - Evaluation Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to your full production?

I've also learnt that most things don't always go to plan - this can hold true, especially for ours as we had to change our whole storyline from what we had in mind in our initial script, to what it is now. Due to many reasons, I couldn't use the clips therefore I had to re-create the story with different clips and in a different order to make sense.

We also learnt towards the end of the process that we should always film a scene in more than one camera angle and to try to keep the mise-en-scene the same throughout the whole sequence. For the reason, why we didn't film multiple times at multiple angles was due to our lack of experience as well as the lack of having a "supervisor" presence within the group due, to this we forgot many things like the camera angles we specifically wanted and also the next scene that was to be filmed.

By having multiple shots and keeping the mise the same, it would essentially give the editor a lot of power and freedom to create good scenes with the resources available to him. This same mistake can be seen in the preliminary task where the editing looked choppy and there was no story.
